That's why we're absolutely thrilled to share some current test results with you: Our sunscreen has been awarded a "Good" overall rating by ÖKO-TEST! We're particularly proud that we achieved top marks in the two most important core areas: Both the partial score for ingredients and the partial score for UV protection (SPF) each received a "Very Good" rating! This confirms in black and white that uncompromising safety and natural care complement each other perfectly.
Since transparency is very important to us as a brand, we'd like to take this opportunity to give you a brief update on a specific detail from the test report.
Zinc Oxide & the "Nano" Standard
It's important to us that our mineral filter provides sensitive protection, is easy to distribute, and doesn't leave a thick white film. Our zinc oxide is classified as "Non-Nano" according to the official, currently applicable guidelines of the cosmetics industry and is declared accordingly. Everything transparent, as you know us.
ÖKO-TEST applies a different, stricter definition in its detailed evaluation, according to which the zinc oxide in the tested sunscreen would be classified as "nano". Different test and measurement procedures can lead to different classifications in practice – we're fine with that, even though we deliberately adhere to the applicable standard. We gladly use these insights from independent institutes like ÖKO-TEST to learn and continuously improve our formulations and declarations in the future.
