HAPPY 2015!! A new year ahead of us, full of opportunities! Just like everybody else we have set our New Year's resolutions. The upcoming year we will;
Bad weather? Have a dancing competition in your living room. We have selected our favourite children's songs for you on Spotify.
1. Eat Healthy
No crazy diets, but healthy fresh food coming from fair suppliers. We usually shop at the fresh food market or at Marqt. They offer seasonal fruits and vegetables. You can find plenty of healthy recipes online or you can get inspired by reading our favourite cooking books "Plenty" and "Plenty More" from Yotam Ottolenghi. For our littles ones we often prepare the meals of "De Kleine Keuken". They are made from delicious veggies, 100% bio and really easy when you don't have the time to cook. Our favourite; salmon with sweet potato and peas.
2. Exercise
Nothing makes you feel more satisfied than being exhausted from a good, sweaty work-out. Besides our usual run around the park we have signed up for Bootcamp and challenge you to do the same. Mom in Balance offers different types of programs that are fun and help you to stay in shape. If we don't have time for our work-out we make sure to get our 30 minutes-a-day exercise by taking our kids to go grocery shopping.
3. Play Outside
Play outside with your kids. Keep them away from TV's, Ipads and other types of screens for at least a few hours. Let hem enjoy being outside and playing with friends. We take our kids out in our new Green Tom Upp stroller. This Dutch designed stroller is made from 100% from sustainable materials (perfectly in line with New Year's resolution number 5), is more than cool for us dads and is amazingly practical. Our preferred "go play outside places" are the playground, the park or the beach. We invent games, play soccer or frisbee or bring the neighbours' dog. Don't worry about getting them dirty, we will get them clean afterwards ;). Run around for a couple of hours (perfect in line with New Year's resolution number 2) and reward them with a healthy snack. We guarantee that they will sleep like babies in the evening!
4. Go on holiday
We recently discovered Kid & Coe. They offer kid friendly holiday destinations all over the world. It basically works the same as AirBnB, however all the apartments are baby & kids proof and they look amazing. No more reasons to have a stay-at-home holiday. We have listed a road-trip through Andalusia, Spain as our next go-to destination. What will be your next destination?
