You cannot go wrong with Naïf’s baby gift tips

Geposted von am

We understand that an amazing gift for one baby may not necessary be that amazing for another baby. Nobody wants an excessive amount of baby rompers, toys, or baby milk bottles. This is why we have put together 5 useful tips below (including our favourite recipe for a vegan banana bread!). 1. Hugs? Please don’t. We get it that babies are cute and we all want to give them a cuddle. However, newborns are sensitive and they need time getting used to unfamiliar faces. So, if possible, avoid hugging newborn babies during your visits. 2. Personalised gifts The name of a newborn probably has been chosen with a great care. Undoubtedly, parents can never get enough of calling or seeing the name of their newborn child. Therefore, a personalised gift with the newborn’s name is always a great idea. For example, a name puzzle from CRE8 or the book about Oskar 't Olifantje, in which the name of the newborn baby plays the leading role. These are both good choices. 3. Do not forget the mother! Never forget about the mother of a newborn child. She is still there and has recently delivered a child. That is a lot of hard work so it’s nice for guests to also bring something for her. Something tasty is a good choice. Or possibly something for a bath. Our Babies & Babes gift set is suitable for both the mother and the child. Oo-la-la, it feels like a spa. And that's exactly what new mothers want! 4. Food is always a good idea The first couple of weeks, extensive cooking is unheard of. New parents are often too busy taking care of their newborn(s) to the point that they sometimes forget, or simply do not have time, to cook a good meal for themselves. This is why bringing food is always a good idea. It’s best to bring something that takes no time to prepare. Perhaps a big pot of homemade soup or a tray of lasagna that only needs to be warmed up in the oven. Or you can bring a healthy snack. How about homemade banana bread? (recipe below!) 5. Ask her! Women who have recently given birth to a baby know exactly what makes them happy. So ask her! After all, giving gifts that new parents will enjoy and find useful is the ultimate goal right? RECIPE: Vegan Banana Bread (by de Groene Meisjes) Preheat the oven to 190 degrees.

  • 1 tbsp fresh(!) lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 100 grams coconut sugar
Mix the above ingredients in a large bowl.

  • 1/2 tbs baking powder
  • 1/2 tbs baking soda

Add the above ingredients into the banana mixture and stir gently with a wooden spoon. Pour the mixture into a baking tin and bake for around 45 minutes. All set!
